New York , New York

Last weekend I took Mandy to New York for her 40th Birthday. We did lots of the normal tourist things like going up the Empire State Building and taking in a Broadway show but the one thing that stood out was the bike tour we took with “Bike The Big Apple”

The tour started at 10 in the morning and took us through the lower east side , over the Williamsburg Bridge , through Willamsburg into Brooklyn and into Dumbo before coming across the Brooklyn Bridge, past city hall, through the financial district and up the Hudson river cycle path before returning to our start point on 17th street having covered about 12 miles at about 5:30pm

We stopped frequently and our guide Richard who is a native New Yorker pointed out more points of interest than we could have ever found in a guide book as well as taking us to places we may never have found even with a guide book. With lunch at a Brooklyn Brewery and afternoon snacks at a chocolate factory ensuring a calorie filled day was had by all.

So if you want to see real New York I cant think of a better way than this. The tour cost $75 including Bike and Helmet Hire.
