Regardless of if you like his style or not Elton John has to be seen (or more appropriately heard) as a master craftsman when it comes to song writing. This early 70's album contains some great tracks. At times some of the tracks sounded almost familiar even when I hadn't heard them before. After a while I realised that some of the piano work was incredible similar to sounds on David Bowie's Hunky Dory album which was released about a year later .... I guess that means it can be called an early 70's piano sound.

Why Does This Review Exist?
I am working my way through Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of all time list and reviewing each album.
- Each album is listened to only once.
- The album is used as background music while working so how much attention I pay to it will depend on what I am doing at the time.
- I do no research about the album or the artist.
- The review is a one off, one moment opinion that may change with further listening.
