I have never listened to Hüsker Dü before but as a punk music fan I was looking forward to doing so. I thought the album started a little weakly. The songs were loud and rough but seemed to lack substance. However as the album went on it improved and took on what I thought to be a similar sound to bands such as Stiff Little Fingers and maybe some early tracks by The Clash.
Overall the album held its own , although it has to be said punk music is hard to work along to, so maybe I need to give it an more relaxed listen at some point.

Why Does This Review Exist?
I am working my way through Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of all time list and reviewing each album.
- Each album is listened to only once.
- The album is used as background music while working so how much attention I pay to it will depend on what I am doing at the time.
- I do no research about the album or the artist.
- The review is a one off, one moment opinion that may change with further listening.
