Ok so I am going to be honest and say I actually listened to this album out of order. I wanted to listen to something I had not heard before so I Googled "Best Albums Ever" and came across the Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums ever list.
I scrolled down until I saw something I fancied listening too (this album) and played it. It was after hearing this album and enjoying it so much I decided to tackle all 500 albums on the list.
I cannot believe I have never listened to this album before. It is an amazing album. Every track is good and some are stunning. This album really captures the sound English , particularly Manchurian music went on to develop and become famous for in the 1990's.
When I first saw the track list I winced a bit when I saw one track, I am the Resurrection, was over 8 minutes long but it turned out to be my favourite track on the album.
As I said I really don't know how I have allowed the Stone Roses to pass me by but now I have found them I won't be letting them go.
Favourite Track: I am the Resurrection
Why Does This Review Exist?
I am working my way through Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of all time list and reviewing each album.
- Each album is listened to only once.
- The album is used as background music while working so how much attention I pay to it will depend on what I am doing at the time.
- I do no research about the album or the artist.
- The review is a one off, one moment opinion that may change with further listening.
