440 The Pogues - Rum Sodomy and The Lash

The Review

I have a sort of love hate relationship with The Pogues based on my ever swinging opinion of Shane MacGowan. There times when I see him as a genius (musically) and then other times as a idiotic drunk who just happened to get lucky.

However with that said it is pretty hard to listen to this album and not swing towards the genius side of the argument.

  • Each album is listened to only once.
  • The album is used as background music while working so how much attention I pay to it will depend on what I am doing at the time.

441 Suicide - Suicide

The Review

When I saw this album was next up I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to it. However it turned out to be pretty darn good.

For me this album had the same feel as The Jesus and Mary Chain's , Psychocandy album only will a grunge electronics rather than grunge guitar.

The tracks worked together as a piece of work while each being different enough to hold their own.

442 Devo - Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!

The Review

This was a pretty quirky album. It has some pretty interesting tracks especially the funky interpretation of the Rolling Stones "I can't get no satisfaction".

I think this an album you need to listen to a number of times before coming to any real conclusions about as I can imagine many of the songs are the type of songs that grow on you over time.

Overall this was an enjoyable album that I am sure will just get better with each listen

443 Cheap Trick - In Color

The Review

I am sure there are a lot of people who like this album but I am definitely not one of them. It' s just pappy American rock with very little substance and nothing to really create any interest.

The best thing I can say about the album is it is thankfully only 32 minutes long.

444 War - The World Is A Ghetto

The Review

This is a fantastic album but I can't really tell you why. There is just something about it that works. It feels like an album with a purpose but it doesn't shove it down your face. You know it's important but your not sure why. You want to listen more to hear what it's saying.
